Since 31 July, the single has been on radio rotation and available on all digital platforms. The creative spark that gave rise to the track is autobiographical in nature and has its roots in the early
1980s. “I was a kid on a seaside holiday in August 1980,” recounts Martix, “and
my carefree spirit was suddenly shattered by the terrible images of the attack of 2
August at Bologna station.” Forty years after the massacre, the images imprinted on Martix's soul are still visible today, and the singer-songwriter wanted to dedicate to Bologna, a city he loves so much, the track “Le Rose” and its accompanying video clip. “I am deeply attached to Bologna, this pushed me to write the piece, which also carries a subtle criticism of a State that too often has not been able to bring to light the full truth about such important events. But alongside all of this, there is always my underlying vision: if we want to give hope to this society of ours, we must cultivate love, as if it were a splendid rose to grow in one's own garden, and then let everyone admire it.”
The video is directed by Mirko Aretini, a leading director of music videos and documentaries, who boasts
prestigious collaborations, including Sigur Ros, Patty Smith, Philip Glass, Vinicio Capossela, Paolo Villaggio,
Pierpaolo Capovilla, Mogol and Goran Bregovich.
