ITALIAN DESIGN DAY, AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE INTERNATIONALIZATION OF ITALIAN DESIGN
On 5 November 2020 we celebrate the Gioranta of Italian Design: events and testimonies tell the story of Italian creativity and style. The Italian Design Day is the annual thematic review launched in 2017 by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Farnesina in collaboration and with the support of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and for Tourism.
WHAT IS THE ITALIAN DESIGN DAY?
The anniversary is an annual thematic review, made up of promotional events. These events, promoted by Italian embassies, consulates and cultural institutes, involve 91 cities all over the world. In fact, 100 testimonials of Italian excellence promote Italian design abroad.
The theme of the Italian Design Day 2020 is "Designing the future. Development, innovation, sustainability, beauty "and is strongly linked to the proactive capacity of Italian design and the enlarged Made in Italy system, to hypothesize ever new development scenarios, capable of overcoming self-referential rhetoric and keeping the improvement of life at the center of the proposals and the protection of the planet. IDD includes a rich schedule of promotional events created by the network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE Offices abroad and has established itself over the years as an effective tool to support the promotion of design and the internationalization of a strategic industrial sector for our export. Every year, for the occasion, 100 testimonials become narrators of Italian design and creativity in the world.
