Golf in Apulia for golfers of style
Southern Italy is known for its wonderful, exclusive golf facilities set among centuries-old olive trees and golden wheat fields. Alberobello Thanks to its distinctive trulli, this little town of 11,000 inhabitants (UNESCO Heritage Site) is truly unique: the old dwellings of the shepherds and farmers of the area, made of dry stone and with a black conical roof, form an interesting contrast with today's building methods. For a stroll or shopping in the centre, we suggest opting for the early hours of the morning, before the numerous tourist buses invade the town. www.alberobello.net

The Castellana Caves  fascinate young and old: while the older ones contemplate the countless stalactites and stalagmites, the little ones are literally captivated by the most bizarre shapes such as the “camel” or the “magic tent”. Aspiring explorers, on the other hand, can enjoy an introduction to the “mysteries of the underground” by taking on the long route (3 km). www.grottedicastellana.it

The Fasano Zoosafari  is one of the largest zoos in Europe and counts more than 200 animal species. The most fascinating are the lions and the families of tigers, which move freely all around and can even approach the visitors' cars (Attention: convertible cars are forbidden and the windows must remain closed!). www.zoosafari.it

Salina, also called “the sincere one”, is the most fertile and beautiful of the islands. Its name dates back to the times when large salt lakes existed on the island. It is characterised by the two twin volcanoes “Monte Fossa delle Felci” and “Monte dei Porri”, which however have not been active for a long time.
The black beaches of volcanic sand create an extraordinary contrast with the splendid crystal-clear water. Discover…  …continue reading
