From his retirement from the stage in 2019, Ennio Morricone began working with his son Andrea Morricone (also a composer and conductor) on the show "Ennio Morricone – The Official Concert Celebration", now on a world tour. The show will also stop in Switzerland (in Geneva on 7.12.2022 and Zurich on 8.12.2022) and will stage a concert rich in musical pieces composed during his very long career.
Thus took shape a project that tells his admirers around the world about the Maestro's work in a new way. Ennio Morricone curated the programme for a new production that includes, in addition to music, film clips from his masterpieces, particular care for the lighting to pay homage to the emotions of his notes, a careful choice of the soloists who perform some of his most iconic melodic lines, together with a symphony orchestra and choir, all conducted by his son Andrea.
The audience has the chance to listen to melodies from numerous internationally successful films, spanning more than 50 years of career, such as CINEMA PARADISO, THE MISSION, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY, ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA, THE UNTOUCHABLES. During the show, previously unseen videos are also screened to pay tribute to the Maestro, who passed away in July 2020 at the age of 91.
