After two concerts in Belgium and one in Paris, the Pooh have landed in Zurich too with their hugely successful “Dove comincia il sole tour” (literally Where the Sun Begins), which took them around the Italian stages and theatres throughout 2011. The tour abroad in fact comes after the release of the live CD “Dove comincia il sole Live”, which gathers the best of nine months of concerts in Italy, and which will keep them busy with international dates. After Switzerland, the Pooh will play in Tel Aviv (25 February), then in Japan for three concerts, then in Prague and in Eastern Europe.

Their show was something spectacular. It was not the usual concert of the “old band” rehashing old hits, but an entirely new performance marked by lights and special effects that perfectly accompanied the voices of the three singers. The fans were literally enveloped by the magic of the Pooh and sang along with them both the tracks of the new work and the ever-present classics such as “Piccola Katy” (literally Little Katy), “Tanta voglia di lei” (literally So Much Longing for Her) and the hits branded with the '70s, of which the audience became the protagonist. Hearing more than 1000 guests intone the words of every song to perfection was truly something incredible that made us realise how much this group is loved. Among the spectators we also noticed numerous fans who had come from Italy to follow their favourites and not miss the chance to hear them live once again. The Kongresshaus in Zurich was literally conquered by the legendary band which, let us recall, over 40 years of career, though going through ups and downs, has written the history of Italian popular music. “It was a unique and memorable concert that confirms the talent and the skill of this group,” exclaimed a couple of fans who had come from Lucerne, “we bought the T-shirts - they went on - the current record and some gadgets for friends who couldn't come because it was a Monday.” This concert, then, has left a mark on the heart and mind of everyone who was present on 23 January 2012.

Before their evening performance, we met the band for a short interview. Here is what they told us: “Dove comincia il sole is a turning-point record that represents a new beginning for us, our new adventure as three. We have passed through many styles and fashions, but we have remained faithful to ourselves, to our personality. This album represents our dimension, our culture, and it was wonderfully received by the audience. We are already at work on the new project, which will probably come out in the middle of the year. We are charged with new energy that we want to pass on to all our fans.”
