The Latin American festival is the most important of its kind in Europe. Zurich's district number 4 cannot wait to spend its nights to the rhythm of samba, Cuban music, bachata and merengue.
After preliminary clarifications with the authorities, the organisers decided, due to the still precarious covid conditions, that Caliente would be held in a new format. The festival indeed takes place in a manageable setting in the Zeughaus area. In the heart of Zurich, Latin grooves set the tone for the first two weekends of July, enchanting Zurich's most colourful district into a lively "barrio" that could just as well be somewhere in the Caribbean or South America. Visitors experience an appointment with joie de vivre, rich in parties, colourful shows and a fascinating Mercado Mundial.

Planning security is one of the main reasons for Caliente's reorientation! "Unfortunately the circumstances do not allow a Caliente! of the size and in the style we were used to," says Roger Furrer, founder and organiser of the Latin music festival in Zurich, Havana (Cuba) and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). In any case, Caliente! 2022 is approaching, and with it the 25th edition (25th anniversary celebrations that were a long time coming). In 1995, the first Caliente! Latin music festival, in the same Kaserne Areal.
